Chapter 1220 - 1235: There's a Mole
The man looked at Lin Mu, realizing this time he couldn't escape from his opponent's hands. He laughed manically, "Haha, I won't say a thing. In the end, you'll understand everything, everything!"Lin Mu looked at this strange fellow, frowned, and thought for a moment, sensing there might be significant hidden truths. Suddenly, a dagger appeared in the man's hand and he stabbed himself in the abdomen.
Poof! A stream of blood flowed from his abdomen, and this guy slowly collapsed into his pool of blood. The speed of his action was so fast that Lin Mu didn't have time to stop him, and just like that, the man died.
Lin Mu looked at his opponent and pondered over the last words this guy had said before dying. It felt like there was a major conspiracy behind it. But Lin Mu couldn't quite figure out what the conspiracy could be.
Evidently, this guy wasn't afraid of death, and for such an enemy hiding in the shadows to find this kind of Death Warrior to do his bidding, it suggested an extremely terrifying force behind him!
"Boss Lin, what do we do here?" Huo Yanggen asked from beside him.
"Dig a pit and bury him." Lin Mu glared at the dead man, feeling frustrated. If he had known earlier, he would have used his Acupoint Hand to control him firmly, preventing him from dying even if he wanted to. With him alive, Lin Mu had hundreds of ways to make him confess, but now the situation had become complicated, as that fool had committed suicide, cutting off their only lead.
While Lin Mu was feeling frustrated, the phone rang.
Lin Mu glanced at the phone, it was Gray Wolf calling.
"Hello, Gray Wolf, what's up?" Lin Mu answered the call and asked.
"Boss, there's another incident." Gray Wolf said gloomily.
Lin Mu frowned while holding the phone, "What incident?"
"A hostess at the Foot Bath Pavilion was killed." Gray Wolf said.
"What?" Lin Mu was a bit shocked. The Foot Bath Pavilion had always been peaceful, how could such an incident happen suddenly? Moreover, a death was the last thing Lin Mu wanted. He would rather suffer great economic losses than have casualties, because once there are casualties, it disrupts people's hearts.
"The hostess named Ah Qiao was killed in her dormitory, just discovered recently." Gray Wolf said.
Lin Mu took a deep breath, trying hard to calm his emotions, and asked, "Wait there, I'm coming right over." After saying that, Lin Mu hung up the phone.
The situation was getting worse. First, the explosion in the Foot Bath Pavilion's hall, and now a girl being killed. The former was manageable, but the latter greatly impacted the Foot Bath Pavilion. A business fears deaths the most, as it frightens others and has a greater impact on business.
Not having time to think more, Lin Mu quickly drove back to the Foot Bath Pavilion. After parking, he headed straight to the fifth floor of the dormitory. On the fifth floor at that moment, a group of people surrounded the dorm entrance, both men and women, mostly the Pavilion's girls and internal staff.
Seeing Lin Mu's arrival, everyone made way for him. Lin Mu walked into the dormitory and saw Ah Qiao lying on the ground. She had no visible wounds on her body, but there was a deep ligature mark on her neck. Evidently, Ah Qiao was strangled to death with thin wire, and there were no signs of a struggle at the scene.
This could explain two things: first, the person who killed Ah Qiao was someone she knew, so she had no time to react or had no defenses up. Secondly, the other party was very skilled, leaving no chance for Ah Qiao to react.
"Boss, what do we do about this?" Gray Wolf came forward and asked softly.
"Find Ah Qiao's family and give them three million in compensation." Lin Mu said slowly.
"Got it, Boss." Gray Wolf nodded.
"What exactly happened, who discovered Ah Qiao first?" Lin Mu asked.
"It was her roommate. After Ah Qiao finished accompanying guests, her roommate took over. When she returned, she found Ah Qiao dead." Gray Wolf reported.
Lin Mu nodded, "Gray Wolf, call over Golden Wolf and come to my room."
"Got it, Boss." Gray Wolf nodded.
Lin Mu explained to the outside staff. Because of the death, the staff would feel insecure, so Lin Mu needed to reassure them. If he couldn't even guarantee safety, who would dare to follow him?
After some explanation, given the situation, the Foot Bath Pavilion would have to suspend operations for rectification. Even if suspended, the staff would still receive their salaries, double, in fact. This was Lin Mu's way to reassure them because, at times like this, no amount of reassuring words or guarantees could match the practicality of money.
Although the staff were worried, they all agreed not to spread the news and patiently wait for the outcome of the incident. Furthermore, since Lin Mu promised security assurance, and since they basically lived together and didn't have to work, they felt assured of their safety. As long as they didn't wander alone, there would be no danger.
The explanation had some effect. After all, Lin Mu had not been unkind to them usually, so everyone gave him some face. After finishing the explanation, Lin Mu returned to his room. This matter needed a strategy discussion because it couldn't continue like this. Lin Mu had to catch the mastermind behind it; he had to see who had the audacity to secretly target the mighty Flying Dragon Gang.
Not long after Lin Mu returned to the office, Gray Wolf and Golden Wolf followed him in. Lin Mu sat on the sofa, lit a cigarette, took a puff, and said, "Have a seat."
Gray Wolf and Golden Wolf nodded and sat down with a depressed expression. Indeed, both of them were quite upset because they were the ones managing the Foot Bath Pavilion, and such a major incident had occurred.
"Boss, what do you think about this?" Gray Wolf looked at Lin Mu and asked.
"There's a mole." Lin Mu inhaled a puff of smoke and slowly exhaled.
"A mole?" Gray Wolf and Golden Wolf were obviously puzzled. "Do you mean these incidents were caused by a mole?"
Lin Mu nodded, "Exactly."
"But wasn't the bomb installer already found?" Gray Wolf asked.
"He has already committed suicide; he was just a scapegoat. There's a deeper hidden person behind the scenes. Ah Qiao's murder was clearly the work of our mole. The dormitory is at the back with security at the door. Outsiders have no chance of getting in. Even if they did get in, they would surely be discovered. Yet, this person managed to kill Ah Qiao quietly, clearly the work of a mole." Lin Mu analyzed.
"But who is this mole? And who would be senseless enough to do something like this?" Gray Wolf asked.
Lin Mu shook his head, "That I don't know yet. I just feel, it seems like everything was planned. From the bomb installation, to the person who installed the bomb, then to Ah Qiao being killed, everything seems to be within their control. What is happening now seems to be something they expected."
