Chapter 43 Incubator
Chapter 43 Incubator
Monday is another day full of hope.
The morning that Chen Che was awakened by his dream was not much different from usual. Chen Che had just finished his 8 a.m. class when he received a call from his counselor. When he went over, he saw that Zhu Jingdong's expression was not bad and he was holding a folder of materials in his hand. Chen Che immediately understood what was going on.
That's it.
Zhu Jingdong smiled and said, "Chen Che, your business plan has been approved by the school. The location is arranged in the incubation park of the university student activity center. You can go there and set it up when you have time."
Chen Che, being very tactful, immediately began to flatter: "Understood, Professor Zhu. Thank you for your help, and thank you to the college and school for your cultivation. I will definitely work hard, pursue my dreams, and live up to my youth!"
Zhu Jingdong waved his hand and didn't say anything more. Chen Che immediately ran to the university student activity center next to the music stage.
But where is the incubator?
Chen Che scratched his head, wandered around the student activity center, and found a classroom on the fourth floor with a sign that read "Maker Space". Inside was a large, bright and clean open space. In one corner, there were several desktop computers and laptops, and several senior students were writing and drawing on the blackboard and discussing problems, looking like geeks.
This looks like this will be my future office. I must say, it's quite upscale.
Chen Che, ever the outgoing type, went over and greeted him, "Hello, senior. We'll be colleagues from now on."
Several senior students were taken aback: "Colleagues? We haven't heard that a new team is coming to the maker space."
"Oh, I just received the materials and came over. You probably haven't been notified yet."
"Look," Chen Che said, handing out a bag of materials.
Several senior students looked at it carefully before realizing, "Oh! Junior, the place the school approved for you isn't here. This is the maker space, and your place is in the incubator below."
"Below? I didn't see anything below either?" Chen Che scratched his head in confusion.
After listening to the senior's explanation, Chen Che realized that there was another floor below the first floor of the student activity center, but he had to go down from the outside.
Chen Che exited the main entrance of the activity center, turned to his right, and searched carefully. Sure enough, between the music stage and the activity center, there was a hidden staircase leading down to a basement. The basement was then in sight, with the incubator plaque on the mottled walls covered in dust and rust.
It's so shabby!
Compared to the maker space upstairs, it's not only worlds apart in terms of physical location, but also in terms of conditions!
Oh well, back in the day, Steve Jobs started his business in his own garage.
It doesn't change the fact that he was a great entrepreneur and eventually became a legend in Silicon Valley.
Upon closer inspection, Chen Che noticed that the gate to the incubator was still locked, making it impossible to see what was inside. No wonder he had to coordinate with the management staff of the main activity center.
The office is in the innermost room on the right side of the first floor.
Chen Che knocked on the door for a while, but no one answered. Not daring to go in rashly, he patiently waited outside.
After waiting for half an hour, a young-looking male teacher finally walked over, snapping his fingers and humming a tune. Seeing a student standing at the door, his casual attitude softened slightly, and he glanced at Chen Che indifferently, smiling, "Excuse me, student?"
Chen Che respectfully said, "Teacher, the school has approved my use of this incubation park. Here are some materials I would like you to review."
The male teacher exclaimed "Oh!" as if suddenly realizing something, "I received a call this morning, it seems there is such a thing."
"Come in."
The first thing Chen Che saw upon entering the office was a nameplate on the desk, bearing the name of the male teacher, Sun Ning.
Sun Ning sat in her office chair, turned on her computer, and started typing. She didn't pay much attention to Chen Che, only saying to him casually, "Hey classmate, I have something to do. Wait for me a bit."
When you're under someone's roof, you have to bow your head. Since he needed something from someone, Chen Che naturally didn't dare to urge them and muttered, "Okay."
As a result, they waited for another half hour.
During this time, Sun Ning hummed half of a nocturne, which Chen Che heard clearly. She even took the time to eat an orange.
What's most infuriating is that this person didn't even ask if they wanted to eat it? They didn't even bother with the pretense of politeness?
This arrogant attitude gave Chen Che a sense of déjà vu.
This is commonly seen in situations where men and women deliberately arrive late for dates to engage in psychological manipulation (PUA), or when a leader calls a subordinate to the office without saying anything, simply leaving them there to test their patience, temper their will, and tame them, as well as their level of obedience.
Hmph, I'll avoid their sharp edge and be patient for now. Let them be smug for a few days. Once I'm in the incubator, I'll see who doesn't respect whom. If they dare to try this trick on me again, I'll give them a good beating.
When Sun Ning finally stopped typing, she gave Chen Che a fake smile and said, "Sorry to keep you waiting."
Chen Che also handed over the materials he was holding.
Sun Ning quickly flipped through the documents in the file folder before speaking:
"Chen Che, right? He's a promising young man. He's already starting his own business at such a young age and has even gotten approval from the school."
Chen Che smiled modestly but not in a genuine smile, saying, "Professor Sun, you flatter me. It just so happens that the school approves of my ideas and is willing to give me a chance to try."
Sun Ning shook her head and smiled, "Excessive modesty can just be arrogance and conceit. I know that Teacher Gong, who is in charge of this area, has very strict requirements. He has rejected quite a few projects before. You must have some skills to pass."
Chen Che didn't want to respond, he just chuckled twice.
"However, young man," Sun Ning said, and then came the turning point, the key point.
"You're a college student preparing to start your own business, unlike other more naive kids."
"It is necessary to engage with society earlier, face society, and understand the basic rules and operating logic of society."
"If you don't handle it well, you might stumble somewhere, right?" Sun Ning said earnestly.
"Thank you for your guidance, teacher. I understand now," Chen Che flattered.
"Good, I understand," Sun Ning nodded, and then said:
"We must cherish such a great opportunity."
As the administrator of this activity center, I am responsible for the students and, more importantly, for the school.
The incubator hasn't been in use for a long time, so I definitely need to confirm the specific details inside before I can sign your documents.
Otherwise, if there's any safety hazard, whose problem is it, whose responsibility is it? Well, there's really no way to explain that.
Moreover, I've been quite busy lately, and I'm not sure when I'll be able to finish verifying everything. If it takes a long time, there's nothing I can do about it.
Chen Che, you're a smart child. I hope you can understand your teacher's good intentions.
After he finished speaking, the office was so quiet that only the sound of the wind outside the window could be heard.
Sun Ning held the key to the incubator in her palm, her fingertips lightly tapping the edge of the table. Her eyes shone with anticipation, yet they were veiled by a thin layer of "bitterness."
