Chapter 94 Elemental Factors, What Good Luck!
Chapter 94 Elemental Factors, What Good Luck!
Lin Wei quickly finished reading the meditation manual.
"Imagine yourself in a vast blue sea, filled with countless tiny water elemental particles, drifting and swaying with the waves. I must imagine myself as a large net, capturing them and ultimately drawing them into my mind."
Following the instructions of the meditation method, Lin Wei began to visualize. Before long, tiny blue specks of light appeared before his eyes, as vivid as miniature fish. He concentrated his energy, trying to capture these specks of light.
"These are the water element factors, about ten in total." Lin Wei's eyes lit up, and he rubbed his hands together unconsciously, saying excitedly, "Only those with wizarding talent can sense these element factors. The higher the elemental affinity, the more can be sensed at once."
The candlelight flickered inside, casting Lin Wei's long shadow onto the mottled walls.
"Let me try to grab it." Lin Wei's eyes were full of anticipation as he rolled up his sleeves.
Soon, a miniature net appeared in the blue sea, swaying left and right in accordance with Lin Wei's will.
"Left, not right." Lin Wei frowned, beads of sweat appearing on his forehead, as he laboriously gave directions, his hands gesturing the direction.
……
"Yes, to the left, can you hurry up? How can you catch anything at this speed?" Lin Wei stomped his feet in frustration, his face turning red. He had finally managed to control the small net, but found that its movement speed was too slow to catch anything.
A whole night had passed, and the room was filled with an atmosphere of exhaustion. Lin Wei couldn't even keep up with the exhaust fumes, let alone catch a single water elemental particle. He snapped out of his cultivation state, slumped into a chair, and gasped for breath.
"No, to become a third-class wizard apprentice, one must at least absorb a water element factor before one can be considered to have entered the profession." Lin Wei's eyes were bloodshot, and he looked unwilling. He slammed his fist hard on the table. "I don't believe it. Is this meditation method really harder to learn than the breathing method? I endured dozens of days of hardship the first time I swallowed the bloodline inheritance stone."
Lin Wei didn't even plan to go to class; he was determined to keep studying. He sat cross-legged on the ground, surrounded by a jumble of books and drafts.
Soon, he entered a meditative state again, but there were only 8 swimming water element factors in front of him, 2 fewer than before. They were still in the shape of small fish, constantly swimming around.
"Because my condition has declined, I'm sensing even fewer of them now," Lin Wei muttered to himself, a hint of helplessness in his eyes. He shook his head slightly. "The capture probability has decreased by 1/5. If my water element affinity were higher, or if the net were larger, the capture efficiency would be faster."
"I need to grind experience points for my ancient inherited witch array so that its affinity level can increase." Lin Wei said while quickly jotting something down on a piece of paper.
After several more days of hardship, Lin Wei's hair was disheveled, but his eyes showed a stubbornness. Finally, with only two water element factors left, he caught one of them, which was struggling in the miniature net.
"Come on, let me absorb you." Lin Wei's voice was hoarse as he shouted. If it weren't for his knightly cultivation, he would have fainted from mental exhaustion long ago.
The small net, carrying water element factors, burrowed into Lin Wei's mind.
"Ah, that feels good." Lin Wei closed his eyes, a blissful expression on his face, his body trembling slightly.
A sweet feeling welled up in his mind, and Lin Wei felt as if he were soaking in a hot spring.
"My brain has turned blue, and I'm much clearer. I feel like I've become more intelligent?" Lin Wei was overjoyed. He opened his eyes a crack and looked ahead. "There's a water element factor swimming in my mind. This one is unique to me."
"To cast spells later, we'll need to consume this water element factor to form a closed loop," Lin Wei said, gesturing with his hand in the air.
Lin Wei was so exhausted that he fell asleep on the table, drooling.
A few days later, Dora's shouts echoed outside the courtyard. A magical megaphone floated in front of her, blocking Lin Wei's window and urging him on. Dora stood with her hands on her hips, her face full of impatience.
"Junior Brother Lin Wei, you've only just joined the organization, and you're already slacking off and skipping classes? You're not even going to class anymore," Dora complained.
Lin Wei was someone she brought here, but his performance was disappointing.
"Senior sister, what's wrong?"
Lin Wei pushed open the door, rubbed his eyes, his hair was messy, and looked at the girl with a full head of blonde hair staring at him with some confusion.
"What do you mean? I heard you only went to class for one day. Wizard general knowledge takes at least half a month to learn. Don't tell me you finished it in one day? It's been a week already." Dora reminded her, her eyes wide open, full of warning.
"I've been practicing for so long? This meditation method is really tedious." Lin Wei scratched his head and muttered to himself.
"Senior Sister Doraemon, I haven't been slacking off. I've been studying meditation techniques these past few days." Lin Wei grinned. He knew Doraemon was doing this for his own good, not to scold him.
"Oh, so what have you figured out?" Dora said coldly, crossing her arms.
"I absorbed a water element factor, and it's currently in my mind. Although it's a bit slow, taking several days, I believe that practice makes perfect, and my cultivation speed will increase in the future," Lin Wei said with a smile, his eyes radiating confidence.
Dora's eyes widened, her mouth agape, looking as if she'd seen a ghost: "???"
"You...you mean, you've already succeeded after just practicing meditation? I don't believe it at all, Junior Brother Lin Wei. We White Wizards shouldn't be bragging!"
Doraemon herself spent nearly a month absorbing her first water element factor, which was already quite remarkable within the tower.
It's perfectly normal for other wizard apprentices to take a year or two to successfully absorb the knowledge.
This junior brother Lin Wei absorbed the first one in just a few days?
"I'm not bragging, look, Senior Sister." Lin Wei summoned the only water element factor in his mind, which was floating in front of the two of them. This was undoubtedly the best proof.
"This is indeed a water element factor. Congratulations, Junior Brother Lin Wei." Dora's expression was complex, her eyes filled with both surprise and envy. "Is this the benefit the Knight System brings you?"
"That's possible. It was much harder for me to practice breathing techniques back then. Maybe I just got lucky," Lin Wei said with a smile, scratching the back of his head.
He thought to himself, "This has nothing to do with my Rubik's Cube; I succeeded entirely through instinct."
"That must be because you have a very good comprehension ability. In history, there have been wizards with very poor foundations who relied on their extraordinary comprehension ability to climb up the ranks and eventually become legendary wizards. The tower master told us about that before," Doraemon nodded.
P.S.: I've been too busy with real-life matters lately, plus the map changes in the storyline requiring me to come up with new settings, so updates have been a bit irregular (usually around 8 AM). I hope you can understand. I'll be able to reach 300,000 words next month, no worries. Have a great holiday everyone! qwq
