Chapter 10 Unexpected Situation
Chapter 10 Unexpected Situation
The next morning, Chen Jiang got up a little earlier and woke up Nina, who was still sleepy, and took her back to her apartment.
However, he didn't rush to leave. Instead, he sat in his car and began to reflect on his uncontrollable desires... Sure enough, no matter how vigilant he was, his mind was still not very clear at the crucial moment.
There's not much to say about Nina's situation anymore; it's simply that she became rich and kept a Russian model as her sugar daddy.
But Chen Jiang was frustrated because he had indeed acted irrationally.
To put it bluntly, when Nina recalled her conversation last night this morning, she didn't seem to be as pitiful as she appeared. Perhaps those things about her mother being seriously ill and needing money for medicine were just excuses.
As a young woman who dared to venture abroad and immediately launched an offensive after confirming that she was wealthy, she couldn't possibly be as simple and pure as she claimed.
Fortunately, things that happen in bed can't be faked, and Chen Jiang could be 100% certain that it was indeed the other person's first time...
"But we really need to be careful in the future, and we absolutely cannot let this happen again... In the end, all my confidence now is just that I have some capital. When this money is gone, everything will just be a bubble."
"Ten million is just capital for your future life. If you really want to drive luxury cars, live in mansions, and indulge in a life of luxury, you'll need at least a net worth of hundreds of millions, right?"
I quietly set a small goal for myself to keep myself disciplined.
Chen Jiang opened his eyes, and was about to take a deep breath when he caught a glimpse of the rearview mirror out of the corner of his eye, and he immediately held his breath back.
In the short time he was reflecting on himself, an old man appeared out of nowhere, one hand holding onto the back of his car with half his body leaning against it, the other hand clutching his heart, his mouth open as if he couldn't breathe, looking like he was about to slip and fall to the ground.
"A staged accident? No, it's a real heart attack!!"
Chen Jiang was startled and quickly got out of the car, running over: "Grandpa, are you alright?"
However, the old man was indeed having an attack of his illness. He lay on the ground, one hand clutching his chest, his whole body trembling, clearly unable to answer his questions.
Although Chen Jiang didn't understand any medical skills, he had common sense. This old man clearly had a heart condition, and people with this condition usually carry medications like nitroglycerin pills with them.
I quickly reached into the old man's coat pocket and found a small bottle labeled "Quick-Acting Heart-Saving Pills". I poured out a few pills, pried open the mouth, and put them under the old man's tongue. Then I laid him flat on the ground.
He then stood up, took out his phone, and dialed for emergency medical assistance.
After the call connected and his location was confirmed, Chen Jiang finally breathed a sigh of relief and wiped the sweat from his forehead.
Looking at the old man on the ground, his breathing had calmed down, and he had put down the hand that was covering his chest. However, for someone his age, such a sudden heart problem was not something that could be easily recovered from, and it was estimated that he would not recover for a while.
Given that he had just made a phone call, it's no surprise that he'll have to go to the hospital as well.
But Chen Jiang wasn't keen on going. Turning his head, he saw that the love of watching a spectacle was indeed ingrained in human genes. Even though it was still early, several people had already gathered around. Chen Jiang picked out a middle-aged man in a suit, carrying a briefcase, who looked like a wealthy person, and greeted him:
"Brother, I've already called an ambulance, but I have some urgent business to attend to. Do you have time to wait here for me for a while?"
Unexpectedly, upon hearing this, the seemingly respectable middle-aged man immediately took a step back, shook his head, and walked away.
"No, no, I have elderly parents and young children to support, I can't get involved in this."
"Besides, young man, you'd better be careful. There are quite a few people trying to scam you these days. You're trying to help, so don't end up getting blamed instead."
After saying that, the man left without looking back.
Chen Jiang was speechless: "Who is this person?"
Looking at the others who had gathered around, they too realized what this person had said and, fearing trouble for themselves, stopped watching the spectacle and immediately went about their own business.
"Well, I guess I can't escape it after all."
There was nothing Chen Jiang could do but wait on the sidelines.
Fortunately, it was already 2016, and Shenzhen's level of development was beyond question. Chen Jiang didn't have to wait long before the sound of an ambulance gradually came on and then appeared at the end of the street.
After the medical staff got out of the car and confirmed that the person who made the call was indeed Chen Jiang, they first briefly observed the old man's condition on the ground and found that the situation was not optimistic and that he needed to be taken to the hospital for further observation and treatment.
Chen Jiang had no choice but to abandon his plan to stop there. He locked his car and followed the ambulance back to the hospital.
Actually, once Chen Jiang arrived at the hospital, all he could do was pay the bills... Fortunately, the old man still had his phone with him, and it wasn't locked. Chen Jiang looked through it but couldn't find any numbers that clearly belonged to family members. Instead, there were quite a few numbers with names like "this gentleman" and "that manager."
Having no other choice, Chen Jiang could only call the phone number with a lot of call history, which was labeled "Wen Shuo".
The phone rang for a few seconds before being answered by a refined voice:
"Chairman, you wanted to see me?"
Although the records on his phone clearly showed that the old man he had casually saved was a wealthy man, he never expected him to be the chairman of some company. How interesting.
The thought flashed through Chen Jiang's mind, but he didn't mince words:
"Um, hello, it's like this."
"About ten minutes ago, when I was parking on the side of the road, I met the owner of this phone, an elderly gentleman. He must have suddenly had a heart attack and fainted. I called an ambulance, and he has now been taken to the hospital."
"I didn't see any family information on his phone, so I just picked one to call... What is your relationship with this old man? Would it be convenient for you to come over?"
"Because I might have to go to work and won't have time to take care of this old man here."
After listening to Chen Jiang's words, there was a brief silence on the other end of the phone, followed by a reply:
"Okay, I understand. Thank you, young man. I'll be on my way here right now."
"Could you wait for me there for a moment? I'll express my gratitude to you in person when I get there."
Chen Jiang scratched his head:
"That won't be necessary, it was just a small favor... But I've already paid all the medical expenses, is that alright?"
A soft laugh came from the other end of the phone:
"Don't worry, we'll talk when I get there."
