Chapter 1 Rebirth in Chicago
Chapter 1 Rebirth in Chicago
"Chicago news: Hannibal Lecter convicted of serial murders."
"Based on a forensic psychiatric evaluation, he/she lacks full criminal responsibility and, in accordance with state law, will not be imprisoned."
"He has now been transferred to the Elgin Mental Health Center in Illinois for lifelong mandatory supervision and treatment at the highest level of security."
"Beep beep beep..."
The crackling sound of electricity woke Titus.
This is a radio he stole while working part-time to earn money, and like an old television set, it often needs to be "patted".
There is no doubt that Titus was a time traveler.
In his previous life, he was holed up in his dorm room complaining about Jay's new album when a fast train bound for another world crashed through the concrete wall and arrived with a bang.
Professional fleet service, one shot, one kill, smooth passage.
Now his name is Titus Gallagher, yes, his surname is that damn Gallagher.
According to Frank's recollection, the original owner of this body was adopted by Peggy, who is Frank's mother, Peggy Gallagher.
The reason for the adoption was that Peggy needed a cute baby to help her sell some sweets.
Because of this, he acquired the "glorious" surname Gallagher and became the eldest brother of the Gallagher family, Fiona's brother.
That's so Jiangxi!
Fortunately, thanks to his precocious intelligence from two lifetimes, Titus was admitted to West Point Military Academy.
During his time at school, he not only excelled academically and possessed exceptional talent, but his physical abilities were also extraordinary.
Of course, there are also a few subtle tricks that are not unremarkable:
The dark-skinned, sexy neighbor begged the red-nosed bishop of the community to issue a letter of recommendation.
Using loopholes in state law to help establish the backgrounds of orphanage martyrs' families.
She gains a wonderful, naked friendship with her sadistic female instructor, who is also her father, a congressman.
……
He walked this path with extreme caution!
Finally, he did it!
He was recruited by the FBI through on-campus recruitment and has undergone 20 weeks of unified training in Baltimore.
He has now been assigned to the FBL Chicago field office, and today is his first day reporting for duty.
Pushing open the double-paned window in my house, which dates back to the last century, I saw the street where sunlight blew through marijuana and excrement, creating a scent of freedom.
He couldn't help but shout at the top of his lungs out the window!
A moment later, the neighbor said:
"Shut up!"
Titus was in an even better mood!
Just then, a loud "bang" rang out downstairs, the door was pushed open, and the smell of alcohol mixed with the pungent odor of an old man hit the door.
He knew without a doubt that Frank had returned.
He heard Frank shout:
"Fiona, give me money to buy some alcohol!"
Titus went downstairs, where Fiona was preparing breakfast.
She was Titus's sister, and as the eldest sister in the family, she was responsible for making breakfast for the whole family.
She opened the refrigerator, took out a carton of discounted eggs and the sausages she and her best friend had stolen from the refrigerated truck the previous week, and ignored Frank.
Frank strode into the kitchen with an air of indifference, and following his memory, he touched a metal biscuit container in the top shelf of the cabinet.
He had seen Fiona secretly putting money in through the window.
This woman is very clever; she never reveals where she hides her money when he's home.
He discovered this by chance when he passed by his house. It was one of his great discoveries as Captain Frank, practically comparable to Columbus's discovery of the Arctic Ocean!
This money is rightfully Frank's!
With that in mind, Frank naturally opened the box.
The next moment, Captain Frank's joy at discovering the Arctic Ocean froze instantly.
Because his box was empty!
Frank quickly opened the remaining cabinets, the clattering noise waking the rest of the family.
After a fruitless search, Frank angrily questioned:
"Fiona, where's the money at home?!"
"Give me money! I want to buy alcohol!"
Fiona did not stop because of his roar; she continued to calmly prepare breakfast.
Just flipping eight eggs one by one exhausted most of her energy.
"Have you forgotten? We went bankrupt last May when you ransacked our house."
"We've run out of money."
Frank stared intently at Fiona, as if trying to find a flaw in her eyes.
That look reminded Fiona of the mortal enemies in the film.
She blinked hard at her reddened eyes, glanced out the window, and gave a helpless smile.
Frank seemed to have confirmed that there really was no money in the family.
He turned around, opened the refrigerator, and took out a case of Oldstyle beer.
He glared at Fiona and was about to leave.
A frizzy-haired boy rushed out, his cheeks freckled, and his face was now contorted with anger, like an angry strawberry.
He is Ian Gallagher, a teenager, a high school student, and the younger brother of Titus.
Ian tried to snatch the beer from Frank's hand; it was something Frank had worked hard to save up for by working at the convenience store.
He rushed down the stairwell, his nearly 1.8-meter-tall figure propelling Frank to a stumble.
Ian said, "That's mine!"
Frank said, "Let go, you brat!"
Frank's lean frame unleashed astonishing strength as he slammed Ian, who was a head taller than him, against the wall.
The beer clattered loudly.
Ian felt a little dizzy; it felt like the back of his head had hit a wall.
A plastic beer crate pressed against his chest, and he couldn't push it away.
Ian looked at his father, Frank.
Frank glared at him fiercely, like a hunting dog guarding its food.
Fiona rushed forward to try and pull Frank away, but to no avail; Frank became enraged.
During the stalemate, a series of "plop" sounds of water being poured suddenly rang out.
The three of them subconsciously turned around and discovered that there was another person sitting in the corner, the eldest brother, Titus.
Titus unscrewed the tea box and poured a few tea leaves into a glass teacup.
The rising white mist obscured the view.
Titus blew on his tea, raised his eyebrows, and gave Frank a 'nuclearly benevolent' smile.
"Frank, I'm telling you..."
"If you don't behave, I'll break your legs right now!"
Titus spoke in a friendly tone, as if it were casual conversation, but Frank broke out in a cold sweat.
Frank knew this guy wasn't as refined as he seemed. He was the top student in physical fitness and theoretical knowledge at West Point, and the only outstanding graduate representative in the entire school to give a speech.
Behind the kind smile mask lies a raging beast!
In fact, Frank was taught a lesson by Titus quite a few times.
Ever since Tytus entered puberty and grew taller rapidly, and knocked Frank unconscious on the spot with a Russian-style giant swing, Frank has been terrified whenever he sees him.
Even though Frank is the father, the one who truly holds the reins in the Gallagher family of eight has always been the eldest brother, Titus. Of course, this is not because he is a good fighter, but because of the care Titus has given to his younger siblings over the years. Since he accepted the original owner's identity, his actions have fully lived up to the saying "eldest brother is like a father."
This made Fiona feel much more relaxed.
Frank quickly opened his beer, a smile spreading across his face.
"Look at him, isn't this my military academy elite, the rising star Titus!"
"Your father is so proud of you!"
Titus ignored Frank and said to Ian:
"Come here and let me take a look."
Ian walked up to Titus with his head down, squatted down, and turned the back of his head toward him.
"Luckily it's just a small bump. Fiona, bring me an ice pack."
Titus took the ice pack and gently placed it on the back of Ian's head, then patted his shoulder lightly.
"You'd better not overwork your brain right now; just stay home and rest today."
"I'll call the school."
"Um."
Having done all this, Titus got up and walked toward Frank.
"If you drink like this again, don't come home, you hear me!"
"Okay, I'll listen to everything..."
Frank's voice stopped abruptly.
With a dull thud, Titus delivered a powerful punch to his abdomen!
Frank's face changed drastically; he was in so much pain that he lost his voice and collapsed to the ground.
"This is your punishment for misbehaving."
After confirming that Frank wouldn't be able to get up for half a day and wouldn't have the energy to bother his family, Titus picked up his coat and said goodbye to Fiona.
Today is his first day reporting to the FBI, so he can't be late.
Before leaving, Fiona encouraged him, "Good luck, Agent Ganag!"
Many people abroad are proud of their surnames, and the Ganag family is no exception.
A moment later, Titus arrived at the FBI. He thought the air smelled unusually sweet and had a damn strong disinfectant smell.
The FBI field office in Chicago is located in the western part of Illinois Medical District (the state to which Chicago is located is Illinois), surrounded by hospitals, government agencies, and universities, which makes this damn "Southside guy" feel a little out of place.
He had already begun to dream of sitting in a comfortable office, sipping coffee and having a standard donut, reading the newspaper, discussing recent policies, and occasionally driving out to extort—or rather, to cultivate relationships with some of the most notorious local gangsters, political bigwigs, and other government agencies.
Another day has passed. I clock out, and once I've saved enough money, I'll buy that damn little villa in that damn rich neighborhood.
Work for the damn taxpayers!
Titus's lips curled into a smirk as he pushed open the FBI door. The next second...
A virtual subtitle, visible only to him, appeared before his eyes:
Your indomitable spirit and defiant life story earned you the emperor's approval.
[You have been summoned by the Emperor! Offer your loyalty!]
[Preparing to time travel!]
